The CPSP utilizes a multi-level system of checks and balances to confirm the overall quality and reliability of its data. Case ascertainment is monitored and verified by investigating duplicate reports and comparing data with the following:

  • Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres
  • Canadian Institutes for Health Information
  • IMPACT (Immunization Monitoring Program ACTive) centres
  • Provincial genetic and viral laboratories

To ensure completeness of case ascertainment so that investigators can capture the data necessary for proper analysis, the CPSP has set a goal of 90% participant response.
